1. The firm acts as a supra-regional firm in the legal form of a Partnership with limited professional liability. PATERIS PartmbB is a partnership with limited professional liability according to the Partnerschaftsgesellschaftsgesetz, registered in the Partnerschaftsregister (Partnership Register) at Amtsgericht München (Munich Local Court) having the number PR 419.
2. According to the Patentanwaltsordnung (PAO), patent attorneys are obliged to maintain a professional indemnity insurance having a minimum insurance cover of 2,500,000 €. Details can be found in Sec. 45a PAO. The contact details of the professional indemnity insurance of our firm are: R+V Versicherung AG, Raiffeisenplatz 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany. There is no geographic limitation of the insurance coverage.
3. It is noted that the Patentanwaltskammer Munich maintains an arbitration board for arbitrations in case of disputes between the firm and the client in order to prevent a legal dispute. As an alternative, the Ombudsmann (ombudsman) at the Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer in Berlin can be called upon for requesting arbitration. It is a prerequisite for arbitration that the underlying amount in dispute does not exceed 15,000 €.
